Food and Beverage

The department offers hands-on training which
give our trainees relevant experience, which they use when they start working in the hospitality industry. On completion of the course, the trainees can work as waiters, chefs, supervisors and managers in welfare catering institutions, restaurants and hotels or they can start their own catering businesses.

The Food and Beverage Sales and Service courses aims
to provide knowledge and skills, theoretically and practically, in production
and service of food and beverages in different types of catering establishments to customers’ satisfaction.

Housekeeping and laundry

In housing keeping we take our trainees through several areas. These include;

Cleaning

Organization

Bathroom and Kitchen Maintenance

Other Tasks:

a)      Bed Making: Ensuring all beds are made with fresh linens, and pillowcases are fluffily arranged.

b)     Laundry Assistance: Folding and putting away clean clothes (sometimes this falls under both housekeeping and laundry duties).

c)      Air Freshening: Using air fresheners or opening windows to keep rooms smelling fresh.

Fashion and design

Fashion and design are wide, creative fields that entails a wide range of styles, trends, and principles. In Murang’a TTI this relates to clothing, accessories, interior spaces, or even digital products. Here’s a breakdown of different aspects of fashion and design.

 

We major in the following;

Footwear Design: Crafting shoes, boots, sandals, and other types of footwear, balancing aesthetics with comfort and functionality.

 

·  Accessory Design: This includes bags, jewelry, scarves, hats, and other adornments that complement an outfit.

Hair  and dressing

  • Cutting Techniques: Basic and advanced cutting methods (layering, texturizing, etc.)
  • Blow Drying & Curling: Using different tools to create various looks (straight, curly, voluminous)
  • Updos and Braiding: How to create elegant and trendy updos and braids for special occasions.
  • Men’s Haircuts: Understanding the trends and techniques for male grooming.
